The main floor (all hardwood floors) has a cathedral ceiling in the
great
room with kitchen, living, and dining areas, and a floor to ceiling
wood
burning stone fire place with firewood provided.
The Kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, coffee
maker, toaster, mixer, ice maker and a full complement of pots,
pans, casserole dishes, and glasses. The large oval dining room
table easily seats 8 to 10 and there are dishes and flatware enough
to serve 12.
The hall laundry room
features a full single washer and dryer and laundry detergent is
provided. There are three TV's, one with satellite connections and a
DVD player - the other two have VCRs. There is a Ducane gas grill on
the back porch.Hot Tub. Our latest addition to the already fantastic cabin
is a new Hot Tub on the lower back porch. Now you can relax in the
Hot Tub surrounded by the best valley & mountain views on the
highland of the Roan.
The
Cherokee Mountain National Forest is a few 100 yards away in
most directions and, as the crow flies, The Appalachian Trail
is less than 2 miles away. By road, Carvers Gap, and the
Rhododendron Gardens are 3 miles. "The Mountain House" is
minutes above the Roan Mountain State Park and has satellite
TV, 2 VCRs with TVs, a stereo, central gas heat, and a gas
grill. When it is not rented, we love to stay there ourselves!
